lyrics

I saw them take their masks off, babe,
And every single one showed their honest faces
I never knew them anyway,
And I never felt safe in your public places
At least, now, we know who was fake.
At least, now, we know who to blame
At least, now, we know who we won’t save!

How many people sat in occupied Berlin wondering when they’d patronize their favorite restaurants again?

Did Anne Frank huddle in the attic thinking ‘This is so stupid that I can’t have a cookout with my friends.’?

I’d love to see you live with REAL oppression,
See you try to cope with having all your rights suspended
See you come to grips with just how mutable your freedoms are, well beyond the scope of your canceled hair appointment that has rendered your life so upended

As simple of an act as it is to wear a mask, I am flabberfuckinggasted that it needs to be defended.

That you can’t wear a paper mask to help save lives while you shop for 30 minutes.

At this point I don’t care what you believe, you’re a lost cause to me if you can see the death toll and try to spin it.

But by all means, advertise your shitty take and witness just how quickly you’ll be finished.

Imagine if you put the same energy and fire into standing up for people who have TRULY had their liberties diminished.

I’ll let that sink in a minute.

You seem to think a mask is such a big commitment
Tell that to a nurse who’s spent 11 hours wearing old equipment.

That they wore the last 4 days, maybe 5, I mean, honestly, who recalls the last shipment?

I don’t agree with labeling them as soldiers but they ultimately have the same mission as a medic on the field making snap decisions

Who’s a waste of limited resources, time, and space, and who might actually have a chance at living?

Now, tell me why you won’t wear a mask while you shop for provisions

Try and keep a straight face while preaching your entitlement to all of those in need who so conveniently escape your vision

Or, better yet, tell me you’re a Christian.

Tell me where it is in all your fabricated teachings that you heal your fellow man with such an ignorant position as refusing to protect both you, and them, of your own volition.

If God was real, and there was any justice, you would be imprisoned.

Flash forward a decade to a quiet exchange between the second to the last and the actual last of us,
Something akin to what all of the romans at Carthage heard spoken by Tacitus
"You made a desert, and you call it peace."
You call the dead in the streets the cost of disease, I call it the unashamed bleeding of activists

Our leaders are thinning the herd just to fleece us and half of them think that’s the cost of us all being capitalists
The others just don’t really care if you’re one of the peasants that make up their averages
How bout we call you essential and bump you to 10 bucks an hour to keep making sandwiches.

The kind of a person who only provides you with aid because they just bought stock in the bandages

Nobody stood in the wreckage of Jonestown and labeled it something benign as mismanagement.
